Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026 — revised to include network organisation identification

1. Overview

Modivis operates modivis.com. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what options you have. Using our website means you’re okay with these practices.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

When you submit a demo request or contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name, job title, and any message you include.

Analytics data (collected automatically):

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website. This includes your approximate location (country/region), browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, time on each page, how you arrived at the site, and an anonymised IP address. We also track which sections of our homepage visitors engage with and for how long using custom events — only with your consent.

Network organisation identification (collected automatically):

When you visit our website, we use your IP address to identify the organisation or company associated with your network connection via ipinfo.io, a third-party IP intelligence service. We record only the organisation name, city, and country — your raw IP address is looked up in real time and is not stored by us. This data is used solely for our internal analytics to understand which types of companies visit our site. Residential ISPs, mobile carriers, universities, and consumer internet providers are automatically filtered out and not recorded. This processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest as a B2B company in understanding our audience at an organisational level.

3. Cookies We Use

Our website uses the following cookies:

Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*)

Set by Google Analytics 4 to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. These expire after 2 years and 24 hours respectively. Data is processed by Google and stored on Google’s servers. Only set if you accept analytics cookies.

analytics_auth

An internal session cookie set when an authorised user accesses our private analytics dashboard at /analytics. It is a session cookie that expires when the browser is closed, and expires automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. It is never shared with third parties.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. The cookie consent banner on our site lets you accept or decline analytics cookies before any tracking begins.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Respond to demo requests and enquiries
  • Understand how visitors interact with our website and improve it
  • Monitor website performance, traffic sources, and geographic reach
  • Analyse which pages and sections are most engaging
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We don’t use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

5. Third-Party Services

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — We use GA4 to analyse website traffic. Google may transfer analytics data to its servers in the United States. Google’s use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or declining cookies on our site.

ipinfo.io (IPinfo LLC) — We use ipinfo.io to identify the organisation associated with a visitor’s IP address. Only the organisation name, city, and country are retained by us — the IP address itself is not stored. ipinfo.io’s privacy practices are described in their Privacy Policy.

Upstash (Upstash, Inc.) — We use Upstash to store organisation-level visit data (company name, city, country, page visited, and timestamp) in a private Redis database accessible only to Modivis internally. No personal data is stored. Upstash servers are located in the United States.

Vercel (Vercel Inc.) — Our website is hosted on Vercel, which processes web requests and may temporarily log IP addresses as part of standard server operations.

6. Information Sharing

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Google (analytics data, as described above)
  • ipinfo.io (IP address sent in real time to identify the associated organisation — IP is not stored by us)
  • Upstash (organisation-level visit data stored in a private database)
  • Vercel (our hosting provider, which processes web requests and may log IP addresses)
  • Law enforcement or regulatory bodies if required by applicable law

7. Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. Information you submit through our contact or demo forms is kept only as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and for reasonable record-keeping. Organisation-level visit records (company name, city, country, page, and timestamp) are retained on a rolling basis of up to 200 most recent entries; older entries are automatically overwritten.

8. Data Security

We use HTTPS on all pages, httpOnly cookies for session management, and access controls on our internal analytics dashboard. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

9. Your Data

You can ask us to access, update, or delete any data we hold about you — just email team@modivis.com and we’ll sort it out. EU and California residents have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA; we’ll honour any reasonable request.

10. Children

This site isn’t intended for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect data from minors. If you think we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our practices change or when required by law. Changes go live when posted here with a new date.
